Music and Sound has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I now bring sound and reflexology together with Tuning Fork Reflexology and Sound Therapy, using Solar Harmonics tuning forks by BioSonics.
I have chosen to work with these particular tuning forks because they are beautifully precise and deeply respectful of the body’s natural intelligence. They are based on Pythagorean musical principles, which recognise that harmony in music, ratios, proportion and vibration mirrors the harmony in nature and therefore in the human body also.

Pythagoras taught that number and vibration form the foundation of balance. Solar Harmonics tuning forks are tuned to these exact mathematical ratios, gently encouraging coherence within the nervous system and subtle energy body. Rather than forcing change, the tuning sound invites the body into a state of self-correction, balance, and homeostasis.
In a session, the forks are felt as much as they are heard. Clients often describe the experience as a private sound bath, calming, grounding, and quietly uplifting. When used on their own, or woven into a reflexology treatment, Solar Harmonics tuning forks may help to:
-
Support nervous system regulation and deep relaxation
-
Enhance the effectiveness of reflexology treatments
-
Encourage coherent cellular communication through frequency
-
Calm mental overactivity and emotional stress
-
Promote a sense of clarity, balance, and wellbeing
I work as a reflexologist offering tuning fork sound therapy in Frieth, a beautiful village close to Marlow, Henley-on-Thames, Lane End, and the surrounding villages of the Hambleden Valley. My approach blends traditional reflexology with subtle sound therapy, creating sessions that support both physical and energetic wellbeing, while remaining gentle and accessible.

Solar Harmonics tuning forks offer a refined way to deepen therapeutic outcomes, always honouring the body’s innate wisdom.

Contraindications & Things to Consider
Tuning fork therapy is non-invasive and subtle. However, the following considerations apply:

-
Pregnancy: Tuning forks may be used gently, but not directly on the abdomen
-
Pacemakers or implanted electronic devices: Forks should not be applied directly over implanted devices
-
Epilepsy or seizure disorders: Sound and vibration may be stimulating for some individuals; sessions should be adapted and used with care
-
Recent surgery or acute inflammation: Forks should not be applied directly over affected areas
-
Severe mental health conditions: Including acute psychosis or dissociation — sound work should only be undertaken with appropriate medical support
-
Sensitivity to sound or vibration: Sessions can always be adapted, shortened, or stopped

If you are unsure whether tuning fork therapy is suitable for you, please feel free to discuss your individual circumstances prior to booking. Your comfort, safety, and nervous system regulation are always my priority.
My Motivation for Sound Therapy

My relationship with sound goes back many years. In fact, my first job was working as an Entertainment Agent, a role I loved and stayed in for eight years. I was surrounded by music, performance, and creativity, yet I always carried a quiet inner question? I wish I could perform myself. I wish I could send myself to events. At the time, I didn’t yet know how that would take shape but I understood the importance of music.
In 2008, after leaving the Entertainment agency and moving to Brighton, I bought my first singing bowl — a Heart Chakra OM bowl — and something very simple but very profound opened.

In 2011, I was introduced to the late, great Cornelius, Gong Master of Silent Sounds. Through him, I had the privilege of learning about gongs, bowls, chanting, and the deep transformational power of sound. An important part of this work was learning to attune sessions to the cycles of the moon — recognising how rhythm, intention, and sound shift in potency across the lunar phases, and how these cycles subtly influence the nervous system, emotions, and energy body.

It was also around this time that I realised sound work could become an expensive hobby!! and one that requires a great deal of space to house gongs. So I bought my first set of tuning forks.
Now, there are tuning forks… and then there are tuning forks. Today, I find myself working with the latter thankfully.

I have been deeply inspired by the work of John Beaulieu and BioSonics along the way. Their approach fits seamlessly with reflexology, allowing me to work with subtle-body resonance and nervous system regulation in increasingly refined and supportive ways.

Now we find ourselves living through a sound revolution. Emerging research continues to show that the body communicates at a cellular level through frequency. There are coherent and incoherent sound patterns, and my intention with tuning fork therapy is always to guide the body back toward coherent homeostasis — a state of balance, harmony, and self-regulation.
Tuning fork therapy is incredibly gentle, deeply calming, and often uplifting. It works beautifully as a stand-alone treatment and integrates exceptionally well with reflexology.
